What is Jepara Furniture?
Jepara is one of the name of small cities in Indonesia, exactly in the northern part of the Java island, and known as the city of carving in Central Java. Jepara has an area of about 1,004.16 km2 with a population of 1,188,289 inhabitants. Most of the people in Jepara are works in the furniture and carving industry, so that’s why Jepara is well known as a carving city. The carving products of Jepara are not only in demand in Indonesia but are also very popular in the international market, so Jepara is also known as the World Carving Center. Formerly, Jepara carvings were originally only made with the traditional Javanese motifs, but due to the keeping up many international market demand, now also produce with other motifs such as English European style, French style, Chinese, etc.

The products of woven in the city are made from various materials, for example: Rattan, Banana tree trunks, Pandan leaves, and Bamboo.
